Join me at beautiful Deer Stone Lodge for a full day dedicated to one of my favorite finishing techniques—creating a beautifully constructed gusseted stand-up.
Together, we'll work through the entire finishing process, from preparing your stitched canvas and measuring your materials to assembling the piece by hand and adding custom cording. My goal is for you to leave with not only a finished project, but the confidence to create future stand-ups on your own.
This workshop is intentionally designed to be more than a class. It's an opportunity to slow down, enjoy a day with fellow stitchers, ask questions, learn new techniques, and spend time in a relaxed, encouraging environment before the holiday season begins.
• Full-day instruction
• Lunch provided
• Many finishing materials used during class
• A curated pop-up featuring kitted canvases from some of my favorite local needlepoint shops
• Plenty of individual instruction and hands-on guidance
Please bring:
• One completed stitched canvas suitable for stand-up finishing (including the necessary extra rows)
• Backing fabric of your choice
• Cording materials in the colors of your choice (DMC #5 Pearl Cotton is recommended)
Many of the additional finishing materials needed during class will be provided.
There's something especially magical about spending a day stitching at Deer Stone Lodge during the Christmas season. With the lodge already beautifully decorated, it's the perfect setting to gather with fellow stitchers, enjoy a relaxed day of learning, and head into the holidays with new finishing skills and lasting friendships.
Space is intentionally limited to provide plenty of individual instruction and a relaxed workshop atmosphere.
