Hi, I’m Jennifer, founder of The Salty Stitchery Studio.

For more than twenty years, needlepoint has been a constant thread throughout my life. What began as a creative hobby gradually became a passion for preserving the artistry behind every stitched piece. Today, I have the privilege of helping stitchers transform their canvases into beautifully finished heirlooms that can be enjoyed for years to come.

Before founding The Salty Stitchery Studio, I spent more than two decades as a professional photographer and over a decade as an educator. Those experiences continue to shape every project I finish. Photography taught me to notice the smallest details—composition, color, texture, and balance—while teaching instilled patience, organization, and a genuine love for helping others grow in confidence.

Today, those experiences come together through professional finishing, partnerships with local needlepoint shops, and beginner-friendly classes designed to make needlepoint approachable for stitchers of every skill level. Whether I’m teaching someone to thread their very first needle or completing a treasured heirloom, my goal is always the same: to create an experience that feels personal, thoughtful, and beautifully crafted.

I believe every stitched canvas deserves a finish that honors the time, creativity, and care that went into making it.Every project is finished by hand using professional techniques, quality materials, and careful attention to detail because I know that behind every canvas is a story worth preserving.

Living along the South Carolina coast continues to inspire both my work and my business. From the quiet marshes and winding waterways to the timeless craftsmanship found throughout the Lowcountry, that sense of place is woven into everything I create. Even the sandpiper featured throughout my branding—affectionately known as Scout—represents patience, careful attention, and finding beauty in the smallest details, values that guide every project that leaves my studio.
